Being informed of his return to Albemarle Co. and having noted in his Notes his interest in antiquities, thinks bones of huge animal of claw found by saltpetre manufacturers in cave about 5 miles from writer's house would probably be of interest; is sending bones probably of lion kind; perfect picture of such animal carved on rock near confluence of Great Kenawha.
